OVERVIEW OF COURSES

Celia offers various courses in four different levels of Spanish conversation, grammar, reading, and writing. Classes are offered Monday through Wednesday. Not all courses are offered during every seven-week session, but if four students require a course not on the current schedule, it can be added. Course sessions total fourteen hours over seven weeks, with classes held once each week for two hours.

The price for a each group course is $150.00, payable prior to the first class via Zelle, check or cash. Please understand that each weekly class builds upon previous instruction, so I encourage continuity of attendance. If you miss a class, the class will not be rescheduled or refunded. If your personal schedule cannot provide your this continuity, private classes may be a better option.

Grammar courses also include handouts.

Private classes are available for $150.00 for a set of five one hour classes.

Students should be aware that class time is not enough to master all class material; they will need to commit to doing homework outside of class.

It is a requirement that new students have a placement test for grammar classes and a two minute conversation with the instructor before registering in a conversation class.

Courses are offered at five levels of difficulty:

* True Beginners - The Very Basics

* Beginners - Present Tenses and Conjugations

* Mid Level - Past Tenses

* Advanced Level - Subjunctive Tenses

* Expert Level - Advanced Grammar

Within each level of difficulty, there are three types of courses:

* Grammar

* Conversation

* Reading

Courses accommodate students with varying abilities from beginners to advanced. The beginning level courses are taught in English; the more advanced courses are taught in Spanish.

Grammar – Comprehensive teaching of the language is provided through the different levels of grammar courses. It begins with basic verb conjugation and pronunciation; progresses through the different verb tenses and moods; and explains various uses of pronouns and other language constructs.

Conversation – Begins with written exercises and discussion in present tense; progresses to speaking in various verb tenses; finishes with fluent conversation

Readers – As students move from beginning to advanced levels, Spanish books are read out loud to improve listening skills and to examine the phrasing and grammar used in common speech as well as to enrich vocabulary and Spanish comprehension skills.

Escuchadores - Es sólo para estudiantes avanzados, totalmente en español.
